Inside Angelina Jolie’s Strange, Failed Hot Dog Mission at a Los Angeles Target

There is only one news story this past week that has mattered in the slightest, one item that has broken through the clutter and seared itself in the collective consciousness: no, it has nothing to do with Donald Trump; no, it doesn’t involve a Kardashian. We’re talking about the 88-word Page Six report earlier this week explaining that Angelina Jolie took her kids home immediately from a Los Angeles Target store because it did not serve hot dogs. And that is just the tip of the hot dog—sorry, iceberg—of what there is to discuss here: there’s the “big sweater” Angelina was reportedly wearing, the mysterious “man in aisle five” referenced by Page Six, and much, much more.

On this week’s episode (titled “Some Like It Hot Dog”) of Vanity Fair’s pop culture podcast, In the Limelight, co-hosts Josh Duboff and Julie Miller break down Hot Dog-gate in exhaustive detail. Additionally, the pair checks in with two pop-star legends: Britney Spears and Mariah Carey. Spears went off script during a recent Las Vegas show, giving the crowd (and your co-hosts) “something to talk about.” And Carey, in a new interview, delivered some delightful-as-ever bon mots, one related to, yes, dental hygiene.

And no episode of In the Limelight would be complete without checking in with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. This week, an inquiry into the reported method Harry uses to easily transport Markle from the airport when she arrives in London.

So tell your producer you’re taking over the mic; heat up some hot dogs (IF YOUR LOCAL TARGET HAS THEM FOR SALE, that is); and listen to the latest episode of In the Limelight. Afterward, please share your thoughts, questions, and feedback with In the Limelight on Twitter and Instagram. And if you write a review on Apple Podcasts, we promise to help pay for your next trip to Las Vegas to see your dentist.
