22-Yr-Old Man, trying to help woman on road, killed by speeding car in UAE

Police said the man was jump-starting the woman's car.

A 22-year-old man was killed on the spot, after being hit by a speeding car on the Mohamed Bin Zayed Road this morning. He was then trying to help a woman, whose car broke down on the road.

The police said the Tanzanian man was jump-starting the woman's car, hooking it up with his vehicle, when the speeding car ran over him.

As soon as the police's operations room was alerted of the incident, a team of officers from the industrial area station - including traffic experts, patrols and national ambulance - was dispatched.

The body of the man was transported to the morgue of Al Kuwaiti hospital, and the driver was taken into police custody.

The police urged motorists to follow speed limits and keep their eyes on the road. Drivers must also be mindful of cars that are parked at the exit of highways.
