Fresh shipment of Canadian dairy heifers arrived in Doha; Delivered to new Al Khor Baladna Farm

The recent shipment of Canadian dairy heifers touched base in Doha, Qatar on Jan 12 bound for their new home at Baladna Farm in Al Khor. 

London Dairy International Farms Ltd of Ontario has provided more than 6,000 heifers to Baladna since its first shipment began a year ago, said Embassy of Canada in a public statement. 

"London Dairy International won the delicate, set out in August 2018. They have turned out to be a solid, and great quality provider of superb calves. Canadian dairy animals are known for its abnormal state creation of drain and a decent body type. These two vital segments superbly fit to our aggressive Farm activity in Qatar," said Chris Blakeney, General Farm Manager of Baladna. 

"I am extremely eager to be here to respect the last shipment of 2,275 calves touching base in Qatar. These cows are a substantial zenith of numerous months' work between London Dairy International and Baladna," said Stefanie McCollum, Canada's Ambassador to Qatar. "I am glad that Canada has added to Qatar accomplishing independence in its dairy industry." 

 

Ramez Al Kayyat, Group CEO of Baladna stated: "Baladna Farm is furnished with cutting edge advances. It has a controlled atmosphere cooling framework that empowers to control dampness and decline the temperature inside the horse shelters up to 25 degrees Celsius, contrasted with the outside surrounding temperature. This will adjust the cows easily".
