A monkey that escaped last week from a farm run by a French nun in Lebanon has been spotted in Israel, after apparently crossing the heavily militarised border.
The maverick monkey has been sighted around farmland and swinging from balconies in Northern Israel near Ziri't and Hurfesh, with multiple videos appearing online.
The monkey is from a farm in the Bint Jbeil village of Qouzah called the 'Ship of Peace', an interfaith project run by Sister Beatrice Mauger on land belonging to the Maronite Church, Lebanese media reported.
The monkey belongs to a species from the African savannah.
A monetary reward has reportedly been offered for the return of the monkey, who is still on the loose.
