Iran Demands Absolute Control Over Global Shipping

Commercial shipping companies desperately rushed the Strait of Hormuz today. Maritime trackers counted 25 massive vessels crossing the newly reopened waterway. This marks the busiest transit day since the brutal conflict began. Captains even spoofed their tracking signals to hide from potential attacks. The United States completely lifted its naval blockade of Iranian ports. However, Iran quickly replaced the American chokehold with their own bureaucratic trap.

Extorting the Supply Chain

Tehran created a brand new maritime authority to control the strait. They now demand all ships submit transit requests 48 hours in advance. Vessels must obtain specific Iranian permits and localized insurance policies. Iran wants absolute leverage over the entire global energy supply chain. They will effectively extort any corporation that needs to move oil. The military threat subsided, but the economic hostage situation continues. The working-class sailors still sail through highly dangerous, volatile waters.
