Long Eid Al Fitr holiday for UAE private sector

Earlier, UAE cabinet announced Eid holidays for public sector.

Eid Al Fitr holidays for the private sector will begin on Monday, June 3 (Ramadan 29) and last until Shawwal 3. Work will resume on Shawwal 4, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has announced.

If the holy month has 29 days, then Tuesday, June 4 will be Shawwal 1. In case the holy month is 30-days long, Wednesday, June 5 will be Shawwal 1. In the former case, holidays will last from Monday until Thursday, and in the later, from Monday until Friday. The moon sighting committee will meet on Ramadan 29 to spot the moon.

 

Today's announcement came from a circular issued by Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, in implementation of the UAE cabinet's decision on setting private sector's official holidays. Earlier today, the UAE also announced holidays for the public sector.
