MoH to form panel over ‘amendment’ of Health Insurance Law for foreigners

Health Minister Dr Sheikh Bassel Al-Sabah issued a decision concerning the formation of a committee tasked to draft the executive decree of law number 15/2019 on the amendment of Health Insurance Law for foreigners stating fees for medical services.

In a press statement, the ministry affirmed the enforcement of Article Two of the abovementioned law applies on foreigners coming to Kuwait temporarily pointing out that the law aims at defining health insurance to cover their stay in Kuwait.

The National Assembly approved in early March 2019 the amendment of the law and referred it to the government. Meanwhile, the ministry announced that the 21st annual forum of the Arab Hospitals Union will be held on April 10 with the theme, “Changing Arab Healthcare through Wise and Responsible Governance and Productivity.”

 

Head of the forum Dr Ahmed Al-Shatti disclosed the event will be under the patronage of the health minister and in his presence, adding that the forum will last for two days. He said the forum is being organized by Arab Hospitals Union which will witness the honoring of a number of Arab ministers of health including the Kuwaiti minister of health and outstanding Arab figures in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Private Hospitals Union in Kuwait, in addition to the strategic partnership with Hamad Medical Institution. He confirmed that the participants will receive the CME certificate.
