He was "surprised" when he was told he would be honoured at the end of his career.
An Indian driver situated in Abu Dhabi has been respected for his 38-year complaint-free career. The Malayalee, who was a light vehicle driver with Emirates Transport (ET), finished his vocation in December without a single complaint registered against him.
ET on Saturday posted a photograph on its official online networking handles, indicating Abdul Rahman Ponnich, 60, being respected by Waleed Al Muhairi, official chief of the ET's vehicle and renting division.
Conversing with KT, the driver said he was "amazed" when he was told he would be regarded. "I have worked under a few authorities, who have proceeded to expect top positions over the UAE. Not a solitary individual has grumbled about me.
"In my 38 years of administration, I have not caused a solitary mishap. I got a couple of traffic fines, however nobody has ever griped about my driving. In any case, I wasn't expecting such a respect," Abdul Rahman said.
