First Qatar Visa Service Centre will open in Sri Lanka

The first Qatar Visa Service Centre will open in Sri Lanka on October 12 as part of an initiative to enable expatriate workers to complete work visa-related procedures in their home countries, GulfTimes reported.

 

Under the new framework, methodology, for example, fingerprinting and biometric information handling, medicinal examination and the marking of work contracts will be done abroad before the specialists touch base in Qatar. 

Starting with Sri Lanka, the initiative will be launched in a total of eight countries in the first phase. The other nations included in the first phase are India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Tunisia, the Philippines and Indonesia.

The Visa Support Services Department at the MoI has held a class for individuals from the Sri Lankan people group to give subtle elements of the activity. 

Amid the class, Major Abdullah Khalifa al-Mohannadi, executive of the Visa Support Services Department, clarified the highlights of the new specialists' enrollment framework and the procedures included, the MoI tweeted on Thursday. 

An introduction was made on the different phases of the enlistment procedure and its advantages for the two businesses and laborers, helping spare time and exertion and securing the privileges of all concerned.

The process starts with an application made at http://www.moi.gov.qa by the employer, followed by the MoI’s approval. Then, the worker can book an appointment via a designated website and complete the biometric, medical and work contract procedures at the service centre in his/her home country.
