Fresh Houthi Strike On Riyadh Airport Kills One Pakistani Resident

Attacks On Civilian Infrastructure Continue

Saudi Arabia extended the emergency closure of Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport. A fresh Houthi strike killed one person and wounded 11 others on Sunday. The attack came just one day after another deadly assault forced operational suspensions. The General Authority of Civil Aviation identified the deceased as a Pakistani resident. Authorities also reported a simultaneous attack on Dammam airport in eastern Saudi Arabia. Early on Monday, air defenses intercepted another Houthi ballistic missile successfully. This missile was heading aggressively towards the southern city of Khamis Mushait. Dr. Anwar Gargash called for renewed Gulf cooperation on security and defense immediately.

A Call For Unified Defense

He serves as the Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President. He warned that attacks on Saudi Arabia undermine the security of every Gulf state. Gargash stated the attacks exposed the shared nature of the threats facing the region. He stressed that the security of its states cannot be separated under any circumstances. Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan received an important phone call. He spoke with Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araghchi regarding the crisis. They discussed the recent regional escalation and explored potential diplomatic efforts. The Saudi-led coalition vowed a decisive response to these repeated terrorist attacks.

Monitoring Airport Safety

The US military also ramped up enforcement of its naval blockade of Iranian ports. CentCom reported turning around 135 ships over the past three months. Australia's foreign minister condemned the unacceptable attacks against civilians in Saudi Arabia. She advised Australian citizens to avoid traveling to Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport entirely. Saudi aviation authorities continue damage assessments to ensure the absolute safety of airport facilities. Keep up with the complex military and diplomatic conflicts shaping the Middle East.
