Over 300,000 arrested for labor, immigration, border violations across Saudi Arabia

A total of 361,370 people have been arrested in the Kingdom during the past two months for violations of labor and immigration laws and the Public Security authority warned on Tuesday that it would continue its operations in the coming days.

 

The joint field campaign is being conducted by the police in cooperation with the ministries of interior, labor and social development and commerce and investment, and also the department of immigration, which functions under the Ministry of Interior.

According to the latest report from Public Security, some 78,135 violators have already been deported during this period.
The total of 14,868, including 2,528 women, are currently subject to the procedures of the police for early deportation. The authorities have already sent the documents of 58,076 persons to their respective embassies to obtain their travel documents.

According to the statement, 4,758 persons were arrested while attempting to cross the border into the Kingdom, which included 76 percent Yemeni nationals, 22 percent Ethiopians and two percent who were from unknown countries. Some 260 people were arrested for attempting to cross the border from the Kingdom.

A total of 745 people, including 122 citizens, were arrested for transporting and harboring those who violated the local regulations.
