Bangladeshi man dies in Saudi from electrocution

A Bangladeshi immigrant died in Saudi Arabia yesterday from electrocution.

The deceased, Shajib Mia, 19, hailing from Habiganj district came in touch with a live electric wire at his workplace in Jeddah on Sunday, our Moulvibazar correspondent reports quoting Nurpur Union Parishad Chairman Md Mukhles Mia this morning.

 

He was immediately rushed to a hospital in Jeddah where doctors declared him dead, the chairman said.

Shajib went to Saudi Arabia in hopes of a better life one year ago and was working in a restaurant in Jeddah as a waiter.

He is the son of Milon Miah of Purashunga village in Nurpur union of Shayestaganj upazila in the district, the chairman added.
