There is also a lack of financial resources available being utilised in the community for the benefit of ordinary citizens; the government is content to place cash reserves in US and Western banks without the people benefitting from them. Furthermore, a significant part of the Kingdom’s resources are allocated to arms purchases, waging war on the people of Yemen and supporting neo-fascist systems in the region.
Saudi Arabia also suffers from mismanagement in its almost total dependence on foreigners at senior levels in government, production and service institutions. According to recent figures, the number of working foreigners was 10.18 million, representing 76.4 per cent of the total number of employed persons in the country. The number of Saudi employees was 3.15 million, representing 23.6 per cent of the total.
The most serious aspect of all is the failure of officials to persuade Saudi citizens to qualify and work in professions and trades. The biggest evidence for this is the decline in the implementation of the decision to “Saudise” 12 jobs and professions, which was supposed to provide hundreds of thousands of jobs for Saudi men and women.
