’Where is my father’s body?’: Saudi royals have no answer for Khashoggi’s son

Salah Khashoggi, the son of slain Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi has called on social media users to make #WhereisJamalKhashoggi trending so as to help him find the body of his father.

He said he posed the same question to Saudi King Salman and crown prince  Mohammed bin Salman when they met him to offer 'condolences'. "I did not find an answer from them," he tweeted.

Pundits on Twitter reacted swiftly and sharply to a photo released by the Saudi government showing Salah with a pained expression as he shook the hand of the crown prince, who is accused of organising the murder of Khashoggi in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.

Khashoggi, a well-known journalist and critic of the Saudi government, was last seen entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2.

Turkish officials believe he was murdered by a team of Saudi agents inside the building and say they have evidence, including gruesome audio recordings, to back this up.

After initial denials and claims that he had left the consulate shortly after arriving, Saudi Arabia now admits the journalist is murdered.

Its public prosecutor said a fight had broken out between Khashoggi and people who met him in the consulate, ending with his death.
