A new app is making the rounds on social media networks, it goes by ‘Sarahah’. Rapidly growing in Egypt and Saudi Arabia since its launch a few months back, is now slowly moving towards India; as reported by BBC.
What is it? The app has an intent of giving and receiving anonymous feedback for constructive self-development.
How it works? All you need is a Sarahah profile, which can be accessed by anyone, even without logging in. People can leave messages and comments on your profile, the users, however, can tag their identity.
People’s opinions about the app are torn, reflecting in the reviews on Google Play; 5-star reviews are at 10,305 while 1-star reviews are at 9,652.
Positive and constructive feedback is the obvious reason for good reviews, but the negative reviews come from the fact that the app allows anonymous postings; resulting in hurtful and rash talk. The developers are working on many upgrades that will improve the security and privacy features.
There have been other anonymous messaging apps in the past that were much spoken of, such as Yik Yak, Secret, and Whisper.
If you wish to try this app out you can find it for free on Android and iOS.
