Asian driver in UAE falls to death from concrete mixer

39-year-old Pakistani worker crushed his skull after his fall, reported Khaleej Times.

Prosecutors at the Sharjah Misdemeanor Court charged five officials of the company that the victim was working for with negligence and failing to maintain safety procedures.

A witness said that the worker climbed on top of the vehicle to fix the air pipe, but a loud explosion occurred as he was removing the cover which sent him flying in the air before falling to the ground.

He said that the company provided them with safety equipment, such as helmets, suit, and suits, but his co-worker was not wearing a helmet when he climbed the truck to check the air pipe.

The company also pleaded not guilty saying that they were not negligent in any way as they have provided their workers with what they need.

The officials said that the Pakistani worker was responsible for his own death.

The court requested the family member of the victim to produce power of attorney letter regarding blood money, which will be provided to the victim's family.
