Dubai Basketball Completes Perfect EuroLeague Road Trip With Win Over Milan

Dwayne Bacon Sparks First-Half Comeback

Dubai Basketball secured their second consecutive EuroLeague away victory on Thursday night by defeating Olimpia Milano 101–97. The thrilling Round 6 win at the Assago Forum in Italy completed a perfect two-game European road trip. Following their impressive victory over Spanish side Baskonia earlier in the week, Dubai proved they belong among Europe's elite. The back-to-back away wins significantly strengthen the Emirati franchise's standing in the EuroLeague Regular Season. Olimpia Milano started the game aggressively, using offensive rebounding and perimeter shooting to build an early 11-point lead. Head Coach Xavi Pascual quickly called a timeout to settle his players and adjust Dubai's defensive coverage. Guard Dwayne Bacon immediately took control of the game, scoring 14 points in the opening quarter without missing a shot. Bacon's explosive scoring run helped Dubai erase the deficit and take a six-point lead into the second period.

Holding Off A Late Fourth-Quarter Surge

Dubai maintained their offensive rhythm in the second quarter even while Bacon rested on the bench. Elie Okobo stepped up as a primary playmaker, while center Mfiondu Kabengele scored 10 first-half points near the rim. Dubai entered the halftime locker room holding a seven-point advantage before extending their lead after the break. By the late third quarter, balanced team scoring and tight defense pushed Dubai's lead to 20 points. However, Milano mounted a fierce fourth-quarter rally, capitalizing on Dubai turnovers and missed free throws to cut the lead to two. With the Italian crowd roaring in the closing seconds, Bacon stepped to the free-throw line and calmly sank his shots. Bacon finished with a game-high 29 points, shooting a perfect six-for-six from three-point range. Kabengele contributed 18 points, while forward James Blossomgame added 14 points in the high-scoring road triumph.

Returning Home To Coca-Cola Arena

Coach Pascual praised his squad's overall effort while noting they lost focus during the final five minutes. He commended Bacon's leadership on both ends of the floor throughout the demanding Italian road contest. Dubai Basketball now returns home to the Coca-Cola Arena on Monday, October 19, to face SC Derby in the ABA League. Follow Dubai's top sports teams as they compete across international leagues.
