Hospital officials announced a major medical success on Tuesday. Doctors at Aster Hospital Mankhool successfully reconstructed the face of a 42-year-old man. A severe accident had caused multiple life-threatening injuries. Emergency teams admitted the patient with extensive facial trauma.
He suffered deep cuts, heavy bleeding, and severe breathing difficulty. He also experienced double vision and partial facial nerve weakness.
Complex Pan-Facial Fractures
Medical assessments revealed rare and complex pan-facial fractures. These severe injuries involve simultaneous breaks across the upper, middle, and lower face. Doctors say high-impact accidents typically cause these rare fractures.
The man suffered broken jawlines, cheekbones, nasal bones, and eye sockets. The impact also damaged his nasal cartilage and teeth. Furthermore, the severe injuries disrupted his jaw alignment and threatened his vision.
The Surgical Reconstruction
A skilled surgical team performed a highly complex reconstruction procedure. Surgeons repositioned the fractured bones very carefully. They stabilized the bones using medical plates and screws.
The operation also successfully rebuilt the eye sockets and nasal structures. The severe facial injuries made airway management extremely challenging during surgery. Anesthesiologists used a specialized intubation approach to keep the patient safe.
Dr. Renju Prem led the successful surgical procedure. Dr. Abhishek J Narayan and Dr. Jawad Ebn Mohammed provided crucial anesthesia support.
Recovery and Teamwork
Medical staff monitored the patient in intensive care for several days. The man gradually resumed eating and normal daily activities.
Doctors discharged him in stable condition after two weeks. They successfully restored his facial structure and basic functions.
Medical professionals say these complex cases require highly coordinated care. Surgical, anesthesia, and critical care teams must work together to reduce risks.
