Using Apple Wallet And The UAE Pass App
In the United Arab Emirates, your Emirates ID serves as your essential proof of residency and official identification. While the law requires residents to carry their ID at all times, physical cards can get lost or delayed during renewal. If you lose your physical card, you must report it immediately to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security and request a replacement. Fortunately, while waiting for your new card, you can access a valid digital Emirates ID on your phone completely free of charge. iPhone users can store their official identification directly inside Apple Wallet for quick daily access. Simply download the official UAEICP app, sign in using your UAE Pass credentials, and tap on your name under the Emirates ID section. From there, select the "Add to Apple Wallet" button and follow the on-screen prompts. Alternatively, both Apple and Android users can view their card inside the UAE Pass app by tapping "Add documents" under the Personal tab.
Downloading Offline PDFs Via The UAEICP App
Residents can also view and download a standalone digital copy of their card using the UAEICP mobile application. Available on both iOS and Android devices, the app links seamlessly with your existing UAE Pass login. After opening the UAEICP homepage, select the Emirates ID icon and tap your name to display your digital card. Crucially, the UAEICP app allows you to download a high-resolution PDF version of your Emirates ID directly to your smartphone storage. Saving this PDF file on your device lets you attach your identification to online banking or visa forms easily. Furthermore, keeping a downloaded PDF ensures you can show your official ID even when you lack an active internet connection.
Generating A Temporary Verification QR Code
If your physical Emirates ID has expired or remains under processing, the UAEICP app offers a temporary QR code feature. This Quick Response code allows government departments and service centers to verify your identity digitally during active transactions. To generate one, open the UAEICP home screen and tap the "Emirates ID QR Code" option without even logging in. You can verify your profile using your registered mobile number or by entering your passport details, birth date, and sponsor number. Once submitted, the system generates a scannable QR code displaying your unified number and card expiry date underneath. Utilizing these four digital tools ensures you can complete banking, healthcare, and government transactions smoothly while waiting for your physical card.
