HH Sheikh Hamdan issues new resolution for driving schools

Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, High Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has issued Executive Council Resolution No. (38) of 2018 regulating the activities of driving schools in Dubai.

The new resolution is applicable to all driving schools operating in Dubai including special development zones and free zones, with the exception of military and security entities.

Licensing Agency within the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is responsible for regulating driving schools in Dubai, issuing licenses and monitoring adherence to regulations. The agency is also in charge of assigning areas for driving instruction and training, and issuing permits for temporary areas for providing driving instructions, According to the resolution.

 

A license issued by the Licensing Agency is obligatory for giving vehicle driving guidance and preparing. This incorporates licenses for desert and propelled driving. All licenses are legitimate for a year, aside from the permit for transitory driving guidance zones, which is substantial for close to a half year. The educator permit issued to non-UAE residents will lapse when the teacher leaves the foundation he is working under. 

Driving schools are required to hold fast to wellbeing prerequisites, and regard laws and controls and keep up all records according to RTA's frameworks. The Resolution indicates the hardware and devices required for preparing.

The new resolution will be published in the Official Gazette and will be effective within 60 days of its publishing.
