Indian banker found dead after missing for a week in UAE

A bank employee who went missing for a week was found dead in Abu Dhabi. His body was kept in a mortuary as being 'unidentified'. Social workers and community groups stepped in and spread the word to find a relative to identify the body. On Monday afternoon his brother reached the mortuary and identified him.

Indian expat Jabar KP stayed in the city and his body was found from outskirts of Mussafah industrial area, his brother Muneer said.

"We hail from Kannur district of Kerala. Jabar was staying in Abu Dhabi for nine years and he went missing last week. I don't know about the day that the body was found on, but the location is Mussafah. Nor do I know the reason behind my brother's death. He never had problem with anyone. I came to know about the news through social workers and identified the body. I have lost my brother," Muneer, who works in the same bank, said.

Jabar is survived by his wife and two children. The cause of death will be known following a forensic test.
