Parents name baby ‘Emarat’ after UAE

The strong fraternal bond between the UAE and Saudi Arabia continues to grow stronger by the day.

To honour the UAE and the ties between the two nations, a Saudi couple has decided to name their baby boy Emarat in celebration of the Year of Zayed.

The mother, who wished to remain anonymous and only go by the name Umm Emarat (Mother of Emarat), said she decided on her child’s name a week before the baby was due.

Emarat was born at Latifa Women and Children Hospital in Dubai on June 7, 2018, and had his birth certificate issued recently on July 8.

The Saudi couple have an older daughter Ayesha, 3, and have been living in the UAE for the last two years.

Umm Emarat explained her husband Fayez Al Enezi, a businessman, approved of the child’s name and also received the blessings from their family members based in Riyadh.

She also praised the long-standing Saudi-Emirati relations, and the common destiny that brings them together.

Last June, the UAE and Saudi Arabia embarked on a new era after announcing the Strategy of Resolve – a joint vision for economic, developmental and military integration through 44 joint strategic projects by the Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council.
The council’s vision aims to promote the two countries’ global stature in areas of economy, human development, and political, security and military integration as well as ensuring welfare and happiness for their people.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE, with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman.

However, this is not the first time that a GCC couple named their baby Emarat.
