Passengers Face Flight Cancellations And Delays From UAE Airports

Regional Security Concerns Impact Travel

Passengers travelling from the UAE face flight cancellations and severe delays today. The ongoing disruptions stem from regional security concerns and issues at Saudi airports. Weather-related operational changes also force airlines to adjust their scheduled flights. Emirates, Etihad Airways, flydubai, and Air Arabia cancelled selected regional services. Dubai and Abu Dhabi airport boards show delays affecting international arrivals and departures. Saudi Arabia remains a key concern for travellers across the entire region. Flights connecting the UAE to Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam face significant delays. Passengers should check directly with their airline before leaving for the airport.

Airlines Restore Philippine Services

Schedules may change at very short notice due to unforeseen security developments. Meanwhile, Philippine Airlines has officially resumed its scheduled flights to Dubai. The airline joins Cebu Pacific in restoring services between the UAE and the Philippines. This move provides more vital travel options for local Filipino residents. Both airlines currently operate four flights a week each between Dubai and Manila. The resumption of these services offers travellers additional choices when planning their trips. This positive development comes as regional flight disruptions continue affecting other major destinations.

Attacks Disrupt Saudi Operations

A tragic attack on King Fahd International Airport in Dammam caused massive disruptions. The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation reported one fatality and eight injuries. The attack caused significant material damage to the prominent aviation facility. Flightradar24 data showed authorities diverted flights away from the airport immediately. Separately, a drone attack targeted a Saudi Aramco facility at Shaybah oil field. The attack killed a Filipino and a Nepali national working at the site. A Pakistani and an Indian national also suffered injuries during the drone strike. Saudi authorities confirmed the incident did not affect the oil facility’s daily operations.

Monitoring Ongoing Travel Restrictions

King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh resumed a limited number of domestic flights. Saudia and flynas operate these specific services subject to prior government approval. Several international airlines extended their cancellations amid continuing regional security concerns. The US State Department clarified its orders regarding non-emergency government employees. The ordered departure applies only to personnel stationed in Saudi Arabia. The department cited attacks on civilian airports and critical national infrastructure. Flights operated by Iranian airlines to and from the UAE remain suspended completely. Navigate travel disruptions safely with our daily local updates.
