The UAE presented its Tenth National Report today. Officials shared this document at the International Atomic Energy Agency. The UAE delegation highlighted the country's strong commitment to nuclear safety. They also emphasized total transparency and international cooperation.

Barakah Plant Reaches Full Operation

The national report outlines new legislative and regulatory safety measures. It highlights massive progress since the last global review cycle.

All four units of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant now operate commercially. This massive achievement marks a major milestone for the UAE peaceful nuclear energy programme.

Updating Strict Safety Regulations

The Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation updated several key regulations recently. Officials enhanced the physical protection and cybersecurity of local nuclear facilities. They also strengthened the certification rules for all nuclear operating personnel.

Furthermore, the authority issued new guides for transporting radioactive materials safely. They also created a forward-looking regulatory master plan for the coming years.

Improving Plant Operations

Nawah Energy Company reported continuous improvements in daily plant operations. Workers executed refueling outages and routine maintenance safely at Barakah.

The operator strengthened the local nuclear safety culture through independent assessments. The company also advances a highly skilled national workforce through structured training programs.

A Responsible Global Partner

Director General Christer Viktorsson praised these ongoing safety efforts today. He stated the report reflects a sustained commitment to the highest safety standards.

He noted the UAE proudly serves as a responsible and transparent global partner. The UAE officially joined this international nuclear safety convention back in 2009.
