Weather: Low visibility, accidents slow down traffic in UAE

Low visibility due to blowing dust disrupted traffic movement at several roads in the UAE on Monday morning.

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has warned motorists to take precautions on roads in the expected bad horizontal visibility in most areas of the country.

Abu Dhabi Police also warned motorists via Twitter to take extra caution while driving during low visibility. Motorists are urged to take extra caution.

The Abu Dhabi Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport also tweeted  at 8:00am to report  an accident on E11 Highway. "Accident on E11 Abu Dhabi - Ghweifat Highway under Sweihan bridge towards Tarif, Filter towards Tarif closed. Use alternative," they wrote on their official twitter handle.

In Dubai, an accident was reported on D61 Sheikh Zayed Road near near Barsha Heights, causing traffic congestion in and around the area.
