Win prizes worth Dh150K for using Dubai public transport

It pays to utilize public transport in Dubai - truly. Prizes worth Dh150,000 are up for snatches as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) prepares for the ninth Public Transport Day on November 1.

5 clients of open transport, including a man of assurance, have the opportunity to win Dh100,000, while Dh50,000 worth of prizes will be offered out to clients from inside the RTA.

Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of the public transport agency said, "Additionally, using public transport in Dubai from October 25 to November 1 will let users earn triple their loyalty points on Nol Plus. It boosts the chances of winning cash prizes and rewards," who is also the chairman of the organising committee for the event.

Join the fun, record-breaking event

  • A world record: On the Public Transport Day on November 1, the RTA will try and break the world record for the mobility of the largest possible number of multi-national riders at Etisalat Metro Station.
  • Celebrity spotting: You could catch up with celebrities and stars while using public transport.
  • Find your Nol half: It involves two participants among public transport riders, with each having a Nol card bearing half an image of a gift. Each contestant has to search for the other.
  • Tourists can take part, too: Tourists will take part in a community-oriented event by Moving Hands Free. Dubz Company, a specialist in luggage movers, will lift the luggage of 100 tourists from the airport to any place in Dubai on November 1. Each tourist will be offered a Nol card to tour the city using public transport.
  • Students, share your videos: 'Being creative on the move challenge' involves students using public transport modes, taking one-minute video footages, and sending it to the RTA's social media channels. The challenge will start on October 25 and winners will be announced on November 1.
