Nearly 99% of Dubai residents feel safe walking at night, survey finds

Ever think twice before going out at night in Dubai? Statistics say perhaps not.


A survey states nearly 99 of those currently living in Dubai profess that they feel safe dandering around alone at nighttime. This survey was conducted via the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre in collaboration with &MD(†) UAE Ministry of Interior.


Dubai Police has published the results of its survey on residents in the emirate feeling safe Here are the results:

 

  • Security - quality of life index: 98.2%

  • Daytime safety perception index: 99.9%

  • Feeling of safety while walking at night: 98.7%

  • Public confidence in police stations: 96.2%


Over all emirates, residents express strong levels of confidence that local authorities are doing a competent job


Sharjah's Police has also completed a survey that showed 99.7pc of residents would feel safe in the emirate by 2025, Abu Dhabi's official news agency Wam reported.


Data was based on a survey by the Department of Statistics and Community Development, which has also stated that faith in law enforcement is at an average level. The police's ability to keep peace and order in every corner of Sharjah is trusted by residents 99 per cent of the time, they say.
