Trump Vows Stricter Iran Deal Than Obama Era Agreement

US President Donald Trump promised his new Iran agreement will differ entirely from past treaties. He called the 2015 nuclear deal a massive mistake today.

Criticizing the JCPOA

Former President Barack Obama originally negotiated the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. Trump claims that agreement gave Iran a clear path to building nuclear weapons. He described the previous deal as one of the worst in American history.

Trump stated his current negotiations proceed in an orderly and highly constructive manner. He called his upcoming agreement the exact opposite of the Obama deal.

Taking Time to Get It Right

The President warned his representatives not to rush into signing anything quickly. He believes time sits firmly on the American side right now. He demands a flawless treaty without any dangerous loopholes.

Trump insists Iran must never develop or procure a nuclear bomb. He will maintain the strict American naval blockade until diplomats finalize the paperwork.
