Diplomatic negotiations between the United States and Iran inch forward slowly today. Iran currently reviews a new peace proposal mediated by Pakistan. However Tehran pushes back firmly against strict American conditions.

Nuclear Discussions Off the Table

Iranian officials refuse to discuss their nuclear capabilities during these current talks. They demand a comprehensive ceasefire across all fronts including Lebanon. Hezbollah leaders confirmed that Tehran will never abandon their Lebanese allies.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio sees a chance for an agreement soon. He told reporters in New Delhi he hopes for good news this weekend.

Maritime Blockade Reaches Milestone

Meanwhile the US Central Command reached a major maritime blockade milestone today. American forces have redirected over one hundred commercial vessels since April. The military strictly enforces a zero trade policy through Iranian ports.

Across the Middle East Iran restricted flights over its western airspace today. Authorities only allow daylight operations at eight specific airports right now.

Trump Stays in Washington

President Donald Trump announced he will miss his son Donald Junior's wedding. The intimate ceremony takes place in the Bahamas this weekend. Trump stated he must remain at the White House due to the Iran crisis.

He also bragged about fixing broken fountains and the Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool. Trump claims he saved the government hundreds of millions of dollars on renovations.
