Bride killed while making dramatic helicopter entrance to her wedding

A bride plunged to her death in a helicopter crash minutes before she was set to tie the knot.

Rosemere do Nascimento Silva wanted to surprise her husband-to-be by making a dramatic entrance to their wedding in a helicopter.

Tragically, the aircraft crashed moments before the ceremony, instantly killing the bride and three others.

The groom was told his wife-to-be had been killed while waiting to marry her at the altar.

The 32-year-old nurse, who was killed while wearing her wedding gown and veil, planned to surprise her fiancé Udirley Narques Damasceno, 34, and the 300 guests by arriving at the wedding venue in the grounds of Recanto Beija-Flor in Sao Laurenco da Serra, San Paulo, Brazil.

Wedding planner Carlos Eduardo Batista said: ‘I called the pastor who was officiating at the ceremony and he went with me to help break the awful news to the groom.

‘Udirley was shell-shocked and couldn’t speak as he tried to understand what had happened. He was heartbroken.’

As well as Rosemere, her brother Silvano, pregnant wedding photographer Nayla Cristina Neves Lousada and helicopter pilot Peterson Pinheiro were killed in the crash.

The Robinson R44 helicopter crashed in a forested area near the football field it was scheduled to land in.

Sao Paulo Fire Department sent eight teams to the scene, although there were no survivors.
