Google Alphabet has raised 32 million 'special' mosquitoes in its lab

Google Lab Mosquitoes: Alphabet, Google's parent company has managed to create 32 million mosquitoes in its lab with the help of robots. They are released in the U. This project is based on the latest technology in advanced technologies and artificial intelligence. But they need approval before release of the mosquitoes into the population can proceed.

Lab-Made Mosquitoes are Uniquely Special

As per a TOI Tech report, these mosquitoes in Google 's lab have created a different type. They were designed and manufactured under the "Debug" project … They do not bite humans. This means they are no danger to mankind.

It was a project that Google started way back in 2016. It has released lab-grown mosquitoes into the wild before.

Google has applied for it, the consideration of that application is ongoing at various government agencies. They have also sought to tap public opinion. But a final decision is still to come, after which the use of lab-built mosquitoes will commence.

What else are you going to do when living amongst the population?

Google's mosquitoes don't bite humans. They are all male mosquitoes. They are then infected via technology with a natural virus named Wolbachia. These mosquitoes, however, only mate with female mosquitoes in the environment and pass on a trait that causes their eggs to become non-viable. Over time this will diminish the number of mosquitoes that take blood.

The AI and robotics of Google will be at the forefront.

The same measures have previously been applied to shield humans from vector-borne diseases caused by mosquito bites. Their benefits have been observed. But mass-rearing mosquitoes in the lab is not to be taken lightly, and Google parent Alphabet is filling this role at completion. The report claimed that project "Debug" was using advanced technology from Google. You have your male mosquitoes, and then you have female mosquitoes as well in the lab instance. Using AI, the Google-esque system classifies male mosquitoes for population release.

They are grown and produced in bulk using Automated Robots Mosquitoes.

Special vehicles: Mobile platforms, including those for transporting and releasing mosquitoes in the right areas.

The experiment will take for 2 years
