Malaysians’ 4-minute wedding in Seoul bookshop goes viral (Video)

When two Malaysians tied the knot in a four-minute ceremony at the Islamic Book Centre in Seoul, they thought it would be a quiet affair.

However, a Facebook video upload of the brief ceremony last week has gone viral, making it more public than expected.

Abdul Fakkar Maudidi Safi, 27, and Khadijah Salamah Ibrahim, 30, got permission from the bride's parents before going ahead with the ceremony. Abdul Fakkar provided a ring along with a 200,000 won (RM756) dowry, and the couple had one witness.

Mohd Zulhilmi Abd Karim, who was a witness to the wedding, said: "I didn't expect the wedding video to go viral because this is the first time I've uploaded a video like this.

"Over here, marriages like this are quite common as long as it's quick and easy to organise. I'm usually called to be a witness to weddings like this."

Mohd Zulhilmi said the couple would need to re-register their marriage when they return to Malaysia.
