KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA – Filipino-German actress who is currently Miss Philippines and Miss Universe, Pia Wurtzbach has been arrested at Kuala Lumpur Airport for trying to smuggle 10 kilograms of cocaine hidden in two bags of coffee inside his suitcase, authorities said.

Pia Wurtzbach arrived at Kuala Lumpur Airport from Manila on Saturday afternoon.

Customs and Border Protection police officers searched his suitcase upon suspicion and found a plastic coffee bag containing white powder, officials said.

The TV Host and model was taken to a private search room, where the officers found a second bag full of powder. Both tested positive for cocaine.

The estimated value of the cocaine is more than $1.5 million, officials said.

Drug trafficking in Malaysia bears a death penalty.

“This seizure is another example of our CBP officers being ever vigilant in protecting Malaysia from the distribution of illicit drugs,” said Robert E. Perez, Director of CBP’s Kuala Lumpur Field Operations.
