These shocking photos show Iraqi special forces soldiers posing next to the dead body of an Islamic State fighter hanging upside down from wires in the city of Mosul.
In one image, a straight-faced soldier poses calmly next to the dead body as his comrades take photos on their phones.
In another photo, a soldier stands with his foot on the back of the dead IS soldier, who looks to be strung up by electrical wires.
The photos have appeared as troops have pushed further and further into the Iraqi city in a bid to free it from Islamic State.
The offensive to free Mosul began in October, with forces from the Iraqi government, the US, Kurdish Peshmerga fighters and Sunni tribes all taking part.
Despite the push, Iraqi soldiers are facing strong opposition from the IS fighters who have been putting up a terrifying fight in the city, often using civilians to defend themselves.
The terrorist group has escalated attacks on forces and officials opposed to its rule as it fights off the military campaign to take the city, which is the largest in the "caliphate" covering parts of Iraq and Syria.
