Violet Brown, World’s Oldest Person, Dies At 117

At 117 years and 189 days old, the world’s oldest person has died in Jamaica. Violet Brown was known as “Aunt V”. She died in a hospital where she was being medicated for dehydration and heart-related ailments. Brown was born on 10th March, 1900. 

 

Brown was a God-fearing person and she often said that she lived this long because of God’s will and her laborious work. Andrew Holness who is the Prime Minister offered his support and condolences to the family via a social media post on Facebook.

After her death, Nabi Tajima has been recognized as the oldest person in the world. The Gerontology Research Group said that she was born on 4th August, 1900 in Japan.
