Chinese counterfeiters are again facing another product scandal after almost 900 people got arrested for selling rat and fox meats as boneless chicken wings and muttons.
The US Food and Drugs Administration discovered the counterfeit products after they seized illegal containers from China in San Francisco Port. The FDA inspectors immediately warned the public that about 300,000 rat meat is now circulating all over US. According to them, China used illegal and harmful chemicals to convert these rat and fox meats into sellable meat.
“If you find that your chicken wings taste slightly different from usual, it is a good bet that they might be counterfeit meat, but this can be easily hidden through the use of different ingredients and spices.” FDA spokesperson Jenny Brookside reminded everyone.
