According to a devastated and grieving Neha Dubey, her younger sister Ragini, a 12th standard student gave a lot of importance to English grammar. They lived in a semi-constructed house in the Bajaha village in eastern Uttar Pradesh (UP).
This Tuesday morning, five boys allegedly murdered Ragini. She was harassed for months in her own village before she was killed, and the main accused is said to be the village head’s son.
As the village head, Kripa Shankar Tiwari, was a powerful person, Ragini’s family didn’t deem it right to report this son and his friends to the police for harassing their daughter. Kripa Shankar continued to assure the family that his son along with his friends will stay away from their daughter. However, Neha said that on ‘Raksha Bandhan’, Ragini was harassed again, and on threatening to go to the police they again asked for another chance.
On finishing her schooling, Ragini wanted to become an air hostess and travel to bigger cities. That is the reason why she insisted on perfecting her English. She was always supported by her family. However, the village head’s son and his friends harassed her for months before they killed her, for this reason.
While the village head is absconding, the main accused Prince Tiwari along with two of his friends have been caught. Two more boys are missing and the search is on.
According to UP police’s press release, it is a case of a love affair between the two that might have gone horribly wrong. Ragini’s family dismissed these claims and are battling character assassination of their deceased daughter.
