A Tragic Discovery In Nayabad

The discovery of a deceased couple shocked the Nayabad area of Kolkata today. The tragic incident occurred in the Nawa Malanch area on the southern outskirts. Officers from the Panchasayar Police Station responded to the scene on Sunday morning. A caller reported that the door of the house was locked from the inside. The caller also stated a person was visible hanging inside the residence. Police identified the deceased individuals as 66-year-old Asit Ash and 68-year-old Mandira Ash. The couple had reportedly lived in the neighborhood for a long time. Police opened the door and entered the house in the presence of locals.

Launching A Formal Investigation

Officers found Asit Ash's body hanging from the ceiling fan. They discovered his wife, Mandira Ash, lying on the bed in the room. Police quickly brought Asit down and transported both individuals to the hospital. Doctors at NRS Medical College and Hospital declared both of them dead. Additional Commissioner Kunal Agarwal confirmed the police registered a case of unnatural death. Detectives from the Homicide Department of Kolkata Police visited the incident spot.
