Gujarat: British Tourist Advisory Warns Of Communal Tension

According to the advisory issued by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office on Tuesday, women traveling to Gujarat have been asked to be respectful of local customs, and have been asked to avoid going to beaches after sunset.

The India-Pakistan border has also been mentioned in the report as being unsafe for tourists. People traveling to Goa have been advised not to leave their drinks unattended, as there have been multiple reports of drinks being adulterated and the travelers have been mugged or beaten up. The most recent incident coming as recently as Match 2017 when a British female traveler was murdered

 

Tourists have also been warned against swimming in the sea due to strong currents and that the coast guard services may not be up to the mark when compared to those in the UK.
Road accidents are a common sight in India and travelers have been asked to wear helmets while riding rented bikes.

Travelers looking to shop have also been warned against con men in Goa, Jaipur, and Agra as they promise unrealistic returns for delivering jewelry to the tourists when they pay an initial booking amount.
