Police recently arrested a man accused of hitting a woman biker on Golf Course Road. The suspect, identified as Kalyan Bainsla, was apprehended in Dausa, Rajasthan. Gurugram Police added a severe charge to the case after examining CCTV footage. Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita deals specifically with attempt to murder. This development significantly raises the legal stakes in this highly publicized traffic incident.
Reviewing Traffic Camera Footage Carefully
The case drew widespread attention after footage of the collision circulated on social media. Gurugram Police took immediate suo motu cognisance and registered an official case. They conducted a thorough analysis of the available traffic camera footage. The attempt to murder charge carries a provision of up to ten years imprisonment. Police affirmed they are committed to taking appropriate action according to the law.
Sector 56 Station House Officer Manoj Kumar visited the injured biker's home. He travelled to south Delhi to officially record a statement from the rider, Sia. The incident occurred on Sunday morning while Sia was riding with other motorcyclists. She alleged the car repeatedly approached her and the occupants gestured at her. She claims the vehicle eventually cut across lanes and struck her motorcycle.
Differing Accounts Of The Traffic Incident
Sia stated she felt the collision was deliberate rather than an accident. She noted the incident affected her confidence about riding alone on city roads. Bainsla’s lawyer, Naveen Bainsla, strongly disputed the rider's account of the event. He denied that his client deliberately rammed the motorcycle or had been drinking. The lawyer claimed the collision resulted entirely from speeding and general road negligence.
He alleged a large group of bikers were riding recklessly and provoking motorists. He claimed both sides had been travelling at high speeds when the collision occurred. The lawyer described his client as a respectable national and international Kabaddi player. The police are currently conducting a detailed and impartial investigation into the matter. Authorities promised that appropriate action will be taken based on the gathered evidence.
