An Indian entrepreneur recently sparked a massive online debate about civic infrastructure. Angel investor Aniruddha Malpani revealed he paid over Rs 58 crore in taxes this year. He then publicly questioned whether taxpayers receive adequate public services in return. Malpani shared a screenshot of his tax payment on X. The document showed a massive payment of exactly Rs 58,08,78,000 for the 2025-26 financial year.

Demanding Value For Tax Money

He stated he earned the money in India and feels happy paying it back. He simply wants the government to deliver value for the massive sums they collect. To prove his point, Malpani posted a photograph of Sector 23 in Gurugram. The picture highlighted roads filled with garbage and severe infrastructural damage. He captioned the photo by stating this is exactly what his taxes fund. The posts drew massive attention across social media platforms.
