Krishnan Raju Thokachichu, an Indian national working in the UAE won 5 million dirhams (USD 1.3 million) in a mega raffle draw in Abu Dhabi yesterday. He won the prize money in the most recent edition of ‘Big 5 Ticket Draw’.
The 10 big millionaires from series 181 had attended the event held at the Abu Dhabi International Airport. Usually the winners share the ticket prize with other raffle draw participants, however, Mr Thokachichu will be the sole winner of the grand prize.
Mr Thokachichu had been going through tough financial issues when he won the prize. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. He had been buying tickets for the last three years and at last, he got lucky.
Mr Thokachichu had come to the UAE in 2008. He makes merely dirhams 10,000 a month. He plans to save some money on the side and pay for his child’s education who is only 4 years old now.
