Former Indian Navy personnel Kulbhushan Jadhav, who Islamabad alleges was a Indian spy, has been given the death sentence, Pakistani army’s publicity wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday.
“The spy was tried through Field General Court Martial (FGCM) under the Pakistan Army Act (PAA) and awarded the death sentence. Today Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa confirmed his death sentence awarded by FGCM,” the ISPR said on Monday afternoon.
Jadhav was arrested on March 3 last year in Balochistan for his alleged involvement in espionage and sabotage against Pakistan as a Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) agent. India has denied all links with the government and charges of spying.
