Pakistan PM Imran Khan makes historic announcement

Imran Khan made the announcement in a Tweet posted on his social media handle.

Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan issued instructions on February 25 to allow the registered Afghan refugees in Pakistan to open bank accounts in the country and participate in the country's formal economy.

"I have issued instructions today that Afghan refugees who are registered can open bank accounts and from now onwards they can participate in the formal economy of the country. This should have been done a long time ago", the Prime Minister said in a Tweet posted on his social media handle.
