A 21-year-old man has been arrested for strangling his girlfriend to death after she had refused to marry him. Police said the 21-year-old woman, a final year BA student, was found dead in a field near Alipur village in Rohini on Saturday.
Family members of the girl told cops that she was missing since Friday evening. She had left home saying that she was going to a local tailor. However, the tailor said she had not visited him but she was seen with a youth Pradeep.
"While being questioned, Pradeep admitted to have murdered the girl and dumped her body in a field nearby. The police team reached the spot and found the body," said DCP (Rohini) Rishipal.
Pradeep told the cops that their relationship was opposed by the girl's family. On Friday, the girl had refused to marry him, which had enraged the youth and he strangled her.
