Bahrain reports significant drop in COVID-19 infections

 The number of new coronavirus infections announced today in Bahrain dropped significantly compared to the daily numbers announced over the past couple of weeks.

After several days with at least over 600 new cases, the Ministry of Health announced 540 new infections after conducting 9,273 new tests.

These included 109 expatriate workers and 424 contacts of active cases, with seven travel-related cases.

There were also 651 additional recoveries, bringing the total discharged to 57,950. The active cases, therefore, went to 6,868, with 146 receiving treatment, of which 52 are critical. One new virus-related death was reported, taking the toll to 222.
