In a tragic incident, a six-month-old baby died after being forgotten in a car for the whole day.
The incident happened in Canada where a father forgot his child to drop the baby at the daycare before going to work. The baby was left in the car all day in the hot weather as the temperature reached 25C.
Police said the father realized his mistake only when he went to pick up the child from the daycare at around 5:30 pm. The baby was found in the car parked outside the daycare in Montreal's Griffintown neighbourhood, and was first taken into the daycare so first responders could perform CPR.
However, the child was pronounced dead at the scene.
"[The father came] back here to the daycare and asked for his child and from there he was told that the child was not brought to the daycare today," police officer Const. Jean-Pierre Brabant said.
Police met with daycare personnel and the grieving parents to interrogate about the incident.
"It's a really difficult situation for the parents and daycare staff and first respondents as well," Brabant said.
Police will investigate to understand the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident and determine if any charges will be laid, according to cbc.ca.
