Arab Countries ranked by Alcohol consumption – Lowest to Highest

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is well known for both, strict rules and implementation of punishments. Alcohol, like all the other unlawful things in Islam, is strictly banned. One cannot carry, drink, let alone even think of alcohol in the Kingdom.

 

There are certain restrictions in many countries on alcohol, but Saudi Arabia and Kuwait have put a complete ban on Alcohol consumption, production, and trade. However, people still manage to smuggle it and consume.

Putting an end to it seems difficult but is not impossible. Alcohol is forbidden in Islam and Saudi Arabia follows Islamic rules.

Apart from this, consumption of alcohol is the major cause of failure of the liver, damage to kidneys and too much of can cause other serious health hazards as well.

Now according to a report claimed and published by WHO back in 2014 regarding alcohol that an average 15-year-old consumes around 6 liters of alcohol per year in the world.

Enlarging the picture, the fact and figures differ. Like not every person consumes alcohol, it is like 40 percent of the total population so those who consume, they take it in a large quantity about 17 liters per year.

Saudi Arabia falls in almost the last of the list when it comes to overall consumption and sale, like second last, but those who consume it, though they are in a very minute number, they still do it.

Let's see the average consumption of Alcohol among the total population and among its users of some Arab countries, it is said that most Arab countries are below the above-mentioned level.

21-Sudan: Average alcohol consumption among the total population is 2.7 liter and the average among the users is 24.1.

20-UAE:  Average consumption among the total population is 4.3 liters and the average among the drinkers is 32.8

19-Lebanon: The average among the users is 23.9 liters and the average of the total consumption is 2.4 liters.

18-Bahrain: Average alcohol consumption is 2 liters and average among the drinkers is 21.2 liters

17-Tunisia: Average consumption is1.5 liters and average among drinkers is 26.2 liters.

16-Qatar: Here the average yearly consumption is 1.5 liters and the average among its users is 22.7.

15-Djibouti: Average among total population is 1.3 liters and the average among the drinkers is 23.2 liters.
