For those of you that don’t know (but really should), HIV is a virus that causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) over time. HPV meanwhile is an STD that’s very much curable, can be vaccinated against, and most of the time even goes away on its own. In fact, it’s a pretty common infection among sexually active adults and teenagers in the US and, because it takes so long to show symptoms, can over time result in genital warts. So I suppose the question is why Trump is so interested in questions about HPV hmm?

But that’s not even the end of it. As it turns out, Trump also asked Gates whether vaccines can be bad for you. “In both of those two meetings, he asked me if vaccines weren’t a bad thing, because he was considering a commission to look into the ill effect of vaccines,” Gates said. “And I said, ‘no, that’s a dead end. That would be a bad thing, don’t do that.’”

Apparently the one thing Trump was very well versed in? What Gates’ 22-year-old daughter Jennifer looked like. “When I first talked to him, it was actually kind of scary how much he knew about my daughter’s appearance.”
