Man wins lottery, to get Dh7,600 a month for life

A North Carolina husband gave in to his wife's demand and unwillingly bought her a lottery ticket is now on cloud nine. Darrin Nunnery of Linden who was forced by his wife to buy the lottery ticket is still open-mouthed after winning $390,000 (Dh1,432,450 approx).

Nunnery said he went to buy the Lucky for Life lottery ticket at the Exprezit store in Cumberland County on Monday.

Nunnery was quoted in UPI that his wife called him and asked "Do you feel lucky?" He added that the question perplexed him as he was not expecting the ticket to be a winner. But when his wife explained to him that all five numbers on the ticket have matched and they will now earn $25,000 a year for life, Nunnery was left stunned.

"I told her, the rolling my eyes is over," Nunnery said. The family took the $390,000 lump sum option for the money, which came out to $274,954 (Dh1,009,892 approx) after required tax withholdings.
